Fire! is a Swedish trio led by saxplayer Mats Gustafsson. The trio formed in 2009 to develop a fresh approach to improvised music drawing on influences from free jazz, psychedelic rock and noise. They create a mix of slowed down, distorted, drone-metal jazz. With inspiration drawn from mining, large lorry engines, electro acoustic music and a large variety of creative rock and free jazz, Fire! is building up a new language for how improvised music can be done.
