Monkey3 started during the year 2001 as a musicians' community dedicated to jam sessions. The overall intonation of these improvisations, due to everybody's influences, was in a stoner-rock vibe. Attracted by this experience, the band was finally formed as a quartet, Picasso - Bass, Walter - Drums, Boris - Guitar and dB – Keys.
"Monkey3", the first album of the band, was released in March 2003. Following this production, Monkey3 inked a deal with the Belgian label Buzzville Records. The record has been re-released in June 2004.
The second Monkey3 album has been released by Buzzville Records in December 2006. In between Monkey3 made it’s appearance on a split E.P (artwork by Malleus) with Hypnos69.
During the 39Laps tour, the band recorded a DVD named "Live at Aventicum" from their show at the "Rock oz Arenes" festival; the DVD has been released in January 2009. A new album is being prepared as we speak.

Vraag ons één band met een oertypische geluidsmuur die je met de ogen dicht en zelfs met nieuwe songs meteen herkent, dan is het Monkey3. Boris is ondertussen getrouwd met zijn unieke Paul Reed Smith-gitaar, bassist Picasso en drummer Walter vormen het koppel ideale bruidsmeisjes die hem de moed en kracht geven om iets wonderbaarlijks mooi uit zijn gitaar en zijn volumeknoppen te toveren. Toetsenist Guillaume vult het gebrek aan vocalen op met het doorslaggevende ingrediënt van soundscapes. Geen ziel uit het publiek lieten ze onberoerd! (Ief De Deurwaerder)
