KROKOFANT
Krokofant's sound is deeply rooted in the 70s, with subtle nods to King Crimson and Soft Machine, combined with a strong John Coltrane influenced saxophone. Even though this is not a rare thing in today's plethora of Norwegian jazz/rock bands, their sound is still quite unique, and Krokofant stands as one of the founders of the current progressive jazz sounds sweeping this Nordic country.
New album 6 is out on Is It Jazz? Records.
With a heavy heart we’ve to announce that the Krokofant concert in Sojo in September is cancelled. Axel Skalstad, the band’s super talented and very kind drummer has sadly passed away recently. Our thoughts go out to his fellow musicians, friends and family.
